WHAT WE OFFER
Sports massage enhances performance and can help prolong athletic participation by helping prevent injury, reduce pain and swelling, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports massage also aids the rapid recovery of an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and promoting the body’s natural immune function.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage relieves severe tension in afflicted muscle groups, and can help treat certain musculoskeletal disorders. These massage sessions can be quite intense as a result of deliberate and focused work on a specific area. Clients often ask for deep tissue massage thinking they are just getting a massage with deeper pressure. Deep tissue works on breaking down adhesions caused by injury or chronic muscle tension. It helps to relieve pain, increases mobility, injury recovery, postural issues, fibromyalgia and general muscle tension or spasm.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point therapy is a style of massage that focuses on releasing “trigger points” in the body. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques in order to release your trigger points. The effects are lasting and profoundly transforming.
Myofascial Release massage treats injuries and discomfort by reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other modalities of massage in that it targets the fascia rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level.
Kinesio Taping is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting.
Basic Post Ride Tissue Mobility Exercises
On any ride, our nervous system adapts our body to the demands of the bike. These adjustments to posture, muscle tendon fascia length and held tension allow us to perform better on the bike. However, once we get off the bike, those temporary adjustments are not as useful for the rest of our lives and can have adverse effects. Here are a simple set of movements for post ride magic.
